You absolutely need to try our yummy scrumptious homemade easy peasy hot cocoa. Perfect for snuggling up by the fire with a nice book, warming up in bed with a movie or just hanging out with the fam. This recipe can be made with any kind of milk/chocolate making it very easy to make for vegans as well. This recipe makes 1 large mug of cocoa, easily just multiply the recipe to make the amount you would like.
Here is what you'll need:
1 1/2 cups of your choice of milk (Mike uses goat milk, Cierra uses regular milk, and our son uses oat milk)
1 1/2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
8g (roughly 2 squares) of chocolate of your choice (we use Camino Mint Chocolate)
2 tablespoons of cane sugar
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt.
Add 1/2 cup of your milk, the cocoa powder, chocolate squares, sugar, vanilla and salt into a pot on medium heat.
Continue to whisk until everything has dissolved and the chocolate has fully melted.
Add the remaining amount of milk and stir.
After a couple of minutes, it should be the perfect temperature.
Pour hot cocoa into your mug and top it off with some marshmallows. Sprinkle some extra cocoa powder on top or shave some chocolate if your heart desires.
